The Ohio Glass Museum presents La-Di-Da: A Journey in Glass from Functional to Fanciful. This exhibit will allow you to take a closer look into both everyday and special occasion glass tableware and examine how the effects of human creativity, as well as the influences of culture and industry, have inspired these pieces.

When we see man-made objects, from ancient tools to modern ones, that are more beautifully crafted than need be for their basic purposes, we have gone from functional to fanciful. We are now looking at the “la-di-da” factor.

Our new exhibition is divided into six simple categories:
The Bowl, The Cup, The Plate, The Vase, The Pitcher, and The Light. In each category, you will see the effects of human creativity, as well as the influences of culture and industry on the pieces. To enrich your journey, you will find along the way glass-working terms, defined and pictured, accompanied by samples of the terms.

In addition to this fanciful show, you will also see a beautifully curated display of Depression Glass, called the Mackie Collection. Bonnie Mackie’s love of Depression Glass began in the 1950s and is a remembrance of a bright spot in a very dark time.

You can schedule your tour today by calling 740-687-0101. Leave name, contact number, and when you would like to visit. Please allow two days’ advanced notice.
