Description
Celebrate the magic of the season in Historic Downtown Lancaster at the 1st Annual Downtown Christmas Stroll, a soon-to-be-cherished holiday tradition filled with music, fellowship, and small-town Christmas charm.
The evening begins at 5:30 PM at the Gazebo on Broad Street, where the street transforms into a festive gathering place. Enjoy the joyful sounds of Rise Up Arts Alliance performing holiday carols as L-City Coffee+ serves up free hot chocolate from their wagon. Kids can stop by the Fairfield County District Library for holiday crafts and a special reading of the Christmas Story from Santa himself.
At check-in at the Gazebo, stroll participants will receive a bracelet granting access to a series of inspiring performances inside Lancaster’s historic churches—each one beautifully adorned for the season. The walk begins with an opening program at First United Methodist Church, followed by visits to St. John’s Episcopal, First Presbyterian, and St. Peter’s Lutheran, before a grand finale at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Along the way, guides will lead each color-coded group through the softly lit streets of Historic Square 13, where visitors can also enjoy the Advent Window Walk, created by local artists Joseph Taylor and Enrique Jimenez.
Whether you join the full stroll or simply come downtown to enjoy the open-air festivities, this event captures everything we love about Christmas in a small Ohio town—music, light, laughter, and the joy of coming together as a community.
