Join Appalachian Understories for an evening exploring the fascinating history of apples in Ohio, from the legend of Johnny Appleseed to the family orchards that continue to shape communities today. You’ll gather at the beautiful Ochs Fruit Farm, where you’ll learn about the history of apple cultivation, heritage varieties, and the important role orchards have played in Ohio’s agricultural story. You’ll even have the opportunity to enjoy the orchard while it’s at the height of apple season! Ochs Fruit Farm has been serving Ohio since 1872 and today grows more than 100 varieties of apples.
