Spring is just around the corner and there’s a song in the air! That must mean the Lancaster Men’s Chorus has started rehearsals for its 54th Ham and Eggs production, scheduled for May 7th-9th! Ham and Eggs is a scramble of music, hi-jinks and laughter, all while raising scholarship funds for local high school musicians. Any area man who would like to join in the fun can come to rehearsals at 7:30 p.m. each Monday at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster.

This year, the Lancaster Men’s Chorus has created a “Time Machine” to take the audience on a musical journey. Presented by such luminaries as Fred Flintstone, King Tut and The Jetsons, the first half of the show take the audience from the stone age to the space age. The second half of the show, under the direction of Mark Severance, will have a range of songs including favorites from The Beatles, the Beach Boys and big hits from the 1950’s, 60’s and “to infinity and beyond!” Ham and Eggs will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on May 7th-8th and at 3 p.m. on May 9th. The location has been moved to the Crossroads Ministry Center, 2095 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster. Tickets are $10 presale or $12 at the door.

Over the years, the Lancaster Men’s Chorus has become a vibrant community asset, gaining recognition across the region. In 1976, a scholarship fund was established, resulting in over $125,000 being given to local students. Thanks to the tireless dedication of countless individuals and the support of fans, the Lancaster Men’s Chorus now enjoys the distinction of being Fairfield County’s longest continuously operating non-profit, non-religious musical institution.
