Join 310 Skin Company to learn cold-process soap making from scratch using their nourishing tallow base. In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop at Keller Market House, you will learn how to create beautiful, skin-nourishing soaps using tallow and 100% natural ingredients. You will also learn to safely mix lye, work with natural ingredients, and pour a 25-ounce loaf (about 5 bars) to take home. Your ticket includes step-by-step guidance on cold process soapmaking and essential lye safety and all materials, including their rich tallow base, natural colorants, and essential oils. What you take home: Your own soap (makes 4-5 bars) to take home and cure.
What You Will Learn (The Curriculum):
- Cold-Process Basics: Understanding saponification, safe handling of sodium hydroxide (lye), and recognizing “trace.”
- Coloring with Nature: How to prep and use natural colorants.
- Scenting: The basics of blending essential oils using top, middle, and base notes to create a fragrance that anchors well in cold-process soap.
- Texturing & Toppings: How to create textured tops and safely decorate with dried botanicals.
Soap Class options:
- Midsummer Night: A relaxing blend of lavender, patchouli, and bergamot essential oils with deep, natural swirls of alkanet root and charcoal.
- Herbal Meadow: A crisp blend of rosemary, spearmint, and clary sage essential oils marbled with green clay.
- Create your own: Want something completely different? Contact them in advance and they will help you design your own natural scent profile.
