This spring, join Keller Market House for a workshop led by a physical therapist who approaches gardening as a practical framework for personal and communal health! In this one-hour session, you’ll explore the basics of gardening ergonomics: how to move and think in ways that reduce strain, prevent injury, and support long-term physical function. They’ll address common aches and injuries that arise from time spent in the garden this time of year and offer clear strategies for both prevention and recovery. Beyond body mechanics, you’ll also consider how gardening habits influence other aspects of health, including physical activity, nutrition, emotional well-being, and a sense of connection to place and community. Whether you’re new to gardening or have years of experience, this class offers useful guidance for making your time in the garden more enjoyable and sustainable.

About the teacher: Sara Schiffbauer is a physical therapist and the owner and operator of Columbus Urban Farms, a small urban farm with big plans to grow good food for good. They are committed to helping people better understand how their bodies function in order to support long-term health and well-being.
