Visit the Ohio Glass Museum and Glassblowing Studio for a new exhibit, "Earth, Hand, & Fire" featuring glass from the Dana Shouldis Collection, a 104-piece gift of Fenton Glass given to the museum from the estate of Mary Helen Hunt, and many glass items selected from the Ohio Glass Museum archives. 

Ohio: The Start of It All showcases world-changing Ohio innovations in dozens of original works of children’s picture book art from the University of Findlay’s world-renowned Mazza Museum, home to the world’s first and most diverse collection of original picture book art. The exhibition pairs original works of art from beloved picture books with facts about Ohio history and innovations, from the earthworks of Ohio’s Indigenous Peoples, to aviation and astronautical science, to the creation of comic book superheroes that have shaped popular culture in the U.S. and around the world. Artists represented in the exhibition include some of the most celebrated illustrators and author/illustrators in the genre: Marc Brown, creator of Arthur the Aardvark; Rosemary Wells, creator of Max & Ruby; Syd Hoff, creator of Danny and the Dinosaur; Alice and Martin Provensen, whose book The Glorious Flight won the Caldecott Medal, the foremost award for picture book illustrations – and others.

Join Paint Parties for Fun for a pumpkin-inspired paint & sip event at Outerbelt Brewing on Tuesday, October 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The class includes your own canvas, materials, and instruction from Paint Parties for Fun. Drinks and food will be available before, during, and after the class.

Days of Knights is a not-for-profit educational organization that hosts and organizes the annual living history timeline event of the same the name. The first Days of Knights took place in Frankfort, Kentucky in 2012 and has been held each year since. In 2019, the organization found a new home in Charles Alley Nature Park in Lancaster.

Join Executive Director Wendy Gregory and other Fairfield County Heritage Association volunteers for a walking tour of all things Sherman! Begin and end at the Sherman House Museum. The walking tour will take you around historic downtown Lancaster as you stop at locations relating to the Sherman family. Included in the tour is access to the Sherman House Museum!

Visit Young at Art on Sunday, October 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. for a Halloween cupcake decorating class! This event is for ages 6-15. During the class, participants will learn the art of cupcake decorating with the owner of Sweets & Treats by Trixie. Each student will create five different Halloween-themed cupcakes-- one to eat at the end of class and four to take home!

Visit Outerbelt Brewing on Tuesday, October 18 for a Hocus Pocus themed cookie decorating class with Courtney's Cutouts, LLC. Enjoy a fun night out learning how to decorate these adorable cookies! This event is a great idea for a date night or girl's night out!

Visit Outerbelt Brewing on October 30 for a cookie and charcuterie workshop for kids! Also on October 30, Outerbelt will host its Halloween Vendor Show at 1 p.m. along with a kids' Halloween costume contest. The cookie and charcuterie workshop will include two cookies and decorating instructions from Courtney's Cut Outs LLC. This workshop will also include a 7" plate with step-by-step instructions to build a kid-friendly charcuterie board from Canal Charcuterie Co.

Freedom’s Never Free will arrive at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds Wednesday, November 2 through Saturday, November 5. More information coming soon!

Celebrate the holidays immersed in favorite childhood storybooks, iconic toys and memorable costumes from one of America’s most-loved TV and movie families. The Decorative Arts Center of Ohio will present, “A Storybook Christmas Featuring a Very Brady Holiday,” an exhibition that is sure to evoke memories from treasured Christmases past. The exhibit will open November 2 and run through December 31, 2022.

Flower Power: Flora in Fashion explores the relationship humankind has with its natural environment – specifically, how we adorn our bodies with botanical elements from head to toe. From extravagant hats to sublime shoes, fashion designers have found inspiration in colorful floral motifs and botanical elements. Nature’s plant materials not only factor in the aesthetics of fashion and apparel, they literally are the very fabric used to make much of our clothing. Flower Power: Flora in Fashion will grow your appreciation for how the bark, leaves, grasses and seeds around us have been turned into textiles and clothing we use on a daily basis.
