Description
Art & Clay on Main and Square 7 Coffee House are Non-Profit Social Enterprises of the Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
We are mission-driven to provide opportunities that promote independence. We do this through permanent employment, termed internships, social engagement, and community involvement. We promote a culture of kindness and inclusion throughout our businesses, where all walks of life are welcomed and treated with equality. We want our staff and visitors to leave our studio daily, feeling impacted and personally elevated.
We were named Small Business of the Year in 2016 by the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. Columbus Parent Magazine’s Family Faves in Central Ohio voted Art & Clay on Main as the “Best Drop-In Art Studio” in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Additionally, we were also named in the same poll as “Best Art Instruction” in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
A social enterprise (SE) is a business that intentionally integrates social impact as a non-negotiable component of its business model. There are always two goals for SEs: to achieve social, cultural, community economic and/or environmental outcomes; and, to earn revenue. In short, the social purpose and underlying mission are at the heart of every business decision made in SEs. A Social Enterprise can be either for-profit or non-profit. Art & Clay on Main and Square 7 are both Non-Profit with a 501c3 federal tax status.
Art & Clay and Square Seven are proud to partner with Social Ventures Columbus as a part of the social enterprise movement in Central Ohio.
