Description

Buds in Bloom is Central Ohio’s first dedicated forest therapy sanctuary and a social enterprise at the intersection of conservation, wellness, and community care. The sanctuary’s mission is to restore the human–nature connection and provide experiences that reduce stress, support healing, and strengthen resilience.
Founded by Michelle Ward, a 2025 SeaChange Showcase Speaker and one of Central Ohio’s first certified Association of Nature and Forest Therapy guides, Buds in Bloom is trauma-informed at its core. The sanctuary offers safe, supportive spaces for individuals and groups navigating grief, trauma, chronic illness, or high-anxiety living.
Located on five acres of meadows, woodlands, and gardens in Bloom Township (Canal Winchester), Buds in Bloom integrates conservation into every experience. The sanctuary protects biodiversity, plants for pollinators, and preserves wild spaces while guests engage in forest therapy walks, lavender harvests, wellness workshops, and nature-based retreats.
