The Homestead is built from hand-hued, reclaimed barn timbers, barn flooring, and roof rafters from three separate barns located throughout Ohio. The Homestead also features locally sourced limestone, black-hand sandstone blocks, and reclaimed slate fragmented by hand for the kitchen flooring and countertops. The two main entrance doors were created from original solid logs harvested from the bottom of the Ohio & Erie Canal. Upon its completion, it was featured on the Fairfield County Heritage Tour.

The Homestead is free to explore and enjoy as your own, with the exception of bedrooms reserved by other guests and the main kitchen. The main kitchen and appliances are reserved for the host, but feel free to use the dining room table to enjoy your meals. A refrigerator, freezer and microwave are located in the downstairs game room/garage area for use during your stay. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home. Enjoy the game room, relax in the hot tub, fish in the pond (catch & release only) or just lounge around.
