Description
Located between Main and Marietta streets in downtown Bremen, Ohio, Dowling Park traces back to 1929, though its grounds and historic fountain had fallen into disrepair. But one night in 2013, Bremen resident Mary Hoffman had a dream of a family-oriented space, complete with a pavilion for her community. She then spearheaded a seven-year effort to revitalize Dowling Memorial Park in Bremen, culminating in its completion in September 2019, thanks in part to a $100,000 investment from the Ninety One: One Foundation Fund. The park was completely transformed, designed in a Tuscan theme, complete with wrought iron seating and carved artwork. The park is now home to many popular local events such as Music in the Park and the Bremen Community Day, as well as hosting many food trucks.
