Description

Oakthorpe Lake is located approximately 10 miles northeast of Lancaster and three miles north of Rushville. The lake and boat ramp are accessible from Grubb Rd. NE., which is a mile south of State Route 256 and a mile west of State Route 664. Shoreline fishing access is available on the dam off of Pleasantville Road.

Oakthorpe Lake was originally impounded as part of a larger watershed project in the upper Hocking River watershed. This lake is 40 acres in size and approximately 25 feet deep at its deepest point. When fishing, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Green Sunfish and Largemouth Bass. Extensive mats of lily pads form during the summer on this lake.

One parking lot and boat ramp are maintained by the Rush Creek Conservancy District. Only electric motors are permitted on the lake.
