4 Fun Spring Activities in Central Ohio
The temperatures are getting warmer, the flowers are starting to bloom, and there are tons of fun activities popping up around Fairfield County! Check out these 4 fun spring activities to help beat cabin fever.
1. Making Memories at the Museums
As the flower petals begin to open up, so do the doors of the Fairfield County museums! On the Fairfield County Museum Trail, you can learn the history of the motorcycle at the Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame, experience glass blowing at the Ohio Glass Museum, tour historic homes including the Georgian Museum and the Sherman House, and so much more. Looking to get the kids out of the house? Experience imagination and creativity at AHA! A Hands-On Adventure Children’s Museum.
2. Fun Spring Activities to Do Outdoors
Looking to get out and about for some fresh air? We don’t blame you! Luckily, we’ve gathered some ideas to check off your 2023 spring bucket list:
- Hike to the top of Mt. Pleasant
- Kayak across Buckeye Lake
- Do yoga with goats (yes, you read that right) at Hidden Acres Legacy Farm
- Zipline at Valley Zipline Tours
- Bike the Lancaster Bike Path
Bonus: Starting in May, tour the history of an iconic 1824 gristmill, known as Rock Mill, during Rock Mill Days with the Fairfield County Park District!

3. Going Green on the Green Thumb Trail
What better way to ring in the spring than with florals themselves? Whether flowers, succulents, vegetables, and more, the Green Thumb Trail offers it all! From garden centers like Flowers of the Good Earth and Keller Farms Greenhouse, to succulents and plants at STUMP and the Lancaster Greenhouse & Nursery, you won’t leave (or should we say leaf) without a new plant pal!
4. Patios, Pinot, & Pints
It’s patio season! Whether lakeside views or rolling hills, relax with your favorite glass of chardonnay or pinot noir at one of Fairfield County’s many wineries. Check out more winery options on the Covered Bridge Country Wine Trail for your next #WineWednesday Instagram post! Not a fan of vino? No problem! The Visit Fairfield County Route 33 Brew Trail offers diverse brews just south of Columbus. Sample tasty craft beers in unforgettable locations! Pick up a Route 33 Brew Trail passport at any of the participating breweries, have it stamped at all the stops, and redeem it for a cool Route 33 Brew Trail pint glass at the visitor center (158 W. Wheeling Street, Lancaster, OH, 43130). It’s a win/win!
