CENTER ALLEY

Take a walk through history as you stroll through the vibrant Gay Fad Studios Mural located in Center Alley in Downtown Lancaster!  Illustrated through the eye-catching patterns of this local glassware company from the 1930s, these murals seek to revive an amazing part of Lancaster’s glass town heritage and tell the unique story of Gay Fad CEO, Fran Taylor.  Explore how she came to lead an international company and shop vintage mid-century inspired glassware, stemware, and more at Gay Fad Studios located right beside the mural on Main Street.  

MT. PLEASANT

Situated in Rising Park, one of the crown jewels of the Lancaster Parks System, and rising nearly 300 feet above the city, you will find the picturesque Mt. Pleasant.  Formerly home to a variety of Native American activities, the site is now widely recognized as one of the best overlooks in the region and is the perfect place to take a quick hike with a rewarding and breathtaking view!  Tip: On clear days, you can even see the capital of the state, Columbus, Ohio. 

SQUARE 13 HISTORIC DISTRICT

Lancaster’s Square 13 Historic District was laid out in the early 1800s featuring grand homes that still stand today!  Take a walk around the block and view absolutely stunning historic houses and buildings that were built in more than a dozen diverse architectural styles. Stop by the Georgian Museum, Sherman House Museum, and the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio for more local history and a peek inside these amazing abodes.

COVERED BRIDGES

Home to 15 original historic covered bridges, follow the Fairfield County Covered Bridge Trail and enjoy a relaxing day of sightseeing as you discover each photo-worthy bridge! ZANE SQUARE FOUNTAIN

Because of the Ladies Fountain Committee of 1888, this landmark (inspired by a fountain in Etain, France) now sits in Zane Square!  Enjoy its charm on the corner of Broad and Main in Downtown Lancaster.

WAGNALLS MEMORIAL

Designed and built in 1925 by Mabel Wagnalls Jones in memory of her parents, The Wagnalls Memorial Library also offers a community theatre!  Enjoy the beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces while admiring the unique architecture of this historical library.  

ROCK MILL

View the historic Rock Mill, the charming waterfall below it, and the Rock Mill Covered Bridge, all at Stebelton Park! Make it a day and relax with birding and nature watching, photography, walking, and picnicking. Up the road, make yourself at home at Rockmill Brewery, with their spacious tasting room, and outdoor firepit areas, surrounded by a beautiful wooded area and pond.
