Join a naturalist on this introductory hike for beginning birders at Lockville Canal Park. Please bring your own binoculars or try a pair from Fairfield County District Library’s new birding backpacks! You’ll learn tips for finding and identifying birds along with some apps that can help you identify and track the birds you discover along the way. Thanks in advance to Fairfield County District Library for co-hosting this program! Meet in the picnic shelter at least five minutes before the program. There are no restrooms at this location. Bring your own drinking water. Potable water is not available at this location. This is an outdoor program; dress for the weather. Depending on weather conditions and the time of year, you may want to bring sunscreen and/or insect repellent. Pets are welcome in Lockville Canal Park. They must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 6’. For the health and safety of all, pick up and properly dispose of pets’ waste.
