Description
Join Lancaster Parks and Recreation at Alley Park for the Maple Tapping Festival on Saturday, March 9. Visit log cabin stations to learn about the history of maple tapping in America, then stop by the sugar shack and see the evaporator in action as it cooks down the sap to make maple syrup.
The lower level of the nature center will be open with more displays, animals, and a craft for kids. Ohio Valley Kettle Corn will be selling maple-flavored kettle corn. Tim Kirby will be selling locally-made maple syrup. A pancake breakfast will be held in the upper level of the lodge; enjoy a plate of three large pancakes, three sausages, coffee, and orange juice for $5.00. There will be two dining areas available this year, inside the lodge or in the heated tent outside.
