The Torch of Hope Sculpture


Description

This sculpture is part of the Downtown Lancaster Sculpture Exhibition, sponsored by Destination Downtown Lancaster in collaboration with area high school art programs, Blue Shoe Arts and local sculptor, Ric Leichliter. Art students from Fisher Catholic, Lancaster, and Millersport High Schools, the Crossroads Center for Youth, and the clients of Blue Shoes Arts conceived, designed, and modeled their creations under the mentorship of their teachers and Ric Leichliter. Fabrication and installation was facilitated by Ric and other local artists.

This particular sculpture was sponsored by Fisher Catholic High School. Jennifer Appelfeller was the Instructor and Ric Leichliter was the Mentor-Sculptor.  The following students worked on the project: Kailyn Barkhurst, Ella Conrad, Kade Kandel, Grace Gundelfinger, Anne Hartley, Claire Kilbarger, Nikki Klamar, Reagan Striker, Hannah Wilt, Ethan Camby, Keirsten Marion, Madeline Stevens, Robert Ventura, Luke Colopy, Katheryn Harp, Jennifer Karch, Frank Walters, Elizabeth Beiter, Rebecca Sprouse, Lauren Baker, Bayley Fields, Veronica Fowle, Colton Jones, Karli Kirchgessner, McKenzie Ortiz, Corbin Swisher, Catherine Carr, Megan Conley, Kate Krauss, Hayley Novena, and Emily Walsh.
